DE AFUERA DENTRO INSIDE YOU / OUTSIDE ME

CORAIMA

El arte participativo me produce mucho interés desde hace unos años y tener la posibilidad de formar parte de una pieza artística como ésta me inspiraba mucha curiosidad.

Ese momento en el que nos maquillamos es íntimo e individual; no lo suelo compartir. Abrir esa ventana un espectador – la artista – me produjo sensaciones raras, entre diversión y vergüenza.

En Instagram vi la instalación de Junker en Paris y me pareció genial. Me encantaría poder verla en La Térmica de Málaga.

Me siento cómoda con mi rostro desde mi mirada, pero cuando me siento observada o soy fotografiada con una cámara que no controlo siento un poco de inseguridad.

A veces siento que los estándares de belleza me constriñen, a veces no. Los estándares están cambiando y la inclusión de nuevos cánones se está globalizando, lo que provoca una mayor aceptación de uno mismo. En la diferencia está la belleza.

Estoy acostumbrada a verme constantemente en redes sociales. Nos hemos vuelto consumistas de nuestro propio contenido y de nuestra imagen.

I have been very interested in participatory art for a few years now, and having the chance to be part of an artistic piece like this inspired a lot of curiosity in me.

The moment when we put on make-up is intimate and personal; I don’t usually share it. Opening that window to a spectator – the artist – gave me strange sensations, somewhere between enjoyment and embarrassment.

I saw Junker’s installation in Paris on Instagram and I thought it was great. I would love to see it in La Térmica in Malaga.

I feel comfortable with my face from my own gaze, but when I feel observed or I am photographed with a camera that I’m not in control of, I feel a little insecure.

Sometimes I feel that standards of beauty constrain me, sometimes not. Beauty standards are changing and the inclusion of new canons is becoming generalised, causing a greater acceptance of oneself. Beauty is in the difference.

I’m used to seeing myself constantly on social networks. We have become consumers of our own content and image.
